Welcome back – it’s Day 2 of your 7 Day Beating Burnout Transformation!

Grab your worksheet from yesterday because we’re going to look at your list on the left-hand side – what you don’t want in your life and what’s bothering you – so we can figure out the beliefs you may have that are keeping you stuck in place and contributing to your burnout.

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.” – Henry Ford

You see, whatever you think, feel, and believe about yourself and your life is what you ultimately experience.

Now, does that mean I’m saying you intentionally feel burned out or stressed? No, of course not! We all know that no one desires to feel the way you do right now.

What I’m saying is that we all have some beliefs that guide us to do the things we do.

Sometimes, we may not even realize we have these beliefs guiding us – that’s because they’re in our subconscious. And, often, these beliefs may be limiting us.

Here are the top 10 limiting beliefs that many people experience:

  • “I’m not good enough”

  • “I’m not smart enough/I don’t know enough”

  • “I’m afraid to fail”

  • “I’m afraid to succeed”

  • “I have to work hard to make money”

  • “I don’t deserve to have this success”

  • “It’s selfish of me to want more”

  • “I’m too old to change or do something new”

  • “I don’t have what it takes/I don’t have the willpower”

  • “I’ve already tried everything”

Do any of these sound like you? Do you have some others that you know are swirling around inside your noggin?

Here’s what happens with beliefs like these – they lead us to do certain things that allow us to prove the beliefs aren’t true.

For example, if you have beliefs that you’re not good enough or smart enough, maybe that has resulted in you deciding to work harder than anyone else, to always be available, and that your work product is always perfect.

The payoff in doing all this may be that you receive praise from clients or colleagues which serves as validation that in fact you are good enough and smart enough.

But at what cost? If you’re feeding your beliefs by tapping into the needy results they create, then you’re essentially creating an unsustainable world – i.e. you’re burned out or stressed and you’re working all the time with no break.

To create that better quality of life you’re craving, it means identifying and releasing some of these beliefs so you can reclaim your time and your value.

It can be pretty intense to look at some of our limiting beliefs. But, by identifying them you’re setting the all-important groundwork for making the changes you want in your life!

In fact, this foundational work is absolutely crucial and without this important step it can incredibly difficult to make the meaningful and lasting shifts you’re looking for.

Great work today!

Tomorrow, we’re going to look at the right-hand side of your worksheet from Day 1 and take one key step towards creating all those things you do want in your life.
